Transgenic and Knockout Mouse - Collaboration and Release Policy

The transgenic and knockout mouse facility at MIT is no longer being funded by the Consortium to produce mice for the migration community at large, however many of the resources developed over the course of the past 5 years (including the guides to the making of transgenic mice) will continue to be made available through this site. Mice and cell lines generated by the Consortium during the period funded are listed on the activity page and you are encouraged to contact the investigator involved if you would like access to these resources.

While the Consortium is no longer producing mice for the migration community at large we would like to draw your attention to the Knockout Mouse Project (KOMP). This is a trans-NIH initiative to generate a public resource of mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells containing a null mutation in every gene in the mouse genome. Gene nominations for the Knockout Mouse Project are now open and a web based system has been set up through which you can nominate genes to be knocked out.
